Dear Yogis and Yoginis,
Happy Spring! Yes, this is Spring in
Chicagoland! Even nature
seems to have rough transitions, so it isn't
surprising that change can be hard for us as well!
This yogini has been
pondering this notion of change
and decided to make some changes. The
Wednesday night class has been reborn as an 8-
week session (see "All About Yoga" below) to help
those of you interested in getting started and those
looking to learn some more.
Why not treat yourself to a Reiki session? Or make a
change by committing to taking a regular Yoga class?
Let's make some changes together this Spring.

Reiki for Energy Spring Cleaning
I've been asked quite a few times this month: What
exactly is Reiki? What is a Reiki treatment
like? Essentially, Reiki is a technique for enhancing
your energy field. I guess its like recharging your
batteries!
Have you ever left a person or situation feeling drained
or heavy? You may have picked up some non-
beneficial energy. As part of your Reiki session, I also
clear through the accumulated "stuff" in your energy
field. Some people describe a feeling of lightness and
ease when the session is over.
What you'll feel during the session itself is completely
individual. Reiki can do no harm. And it can leave you
feeling pretty darned good. So why not treat yourself to
a bit of Spring "energy cleaning?"

Restorative Yoga
|
|
Who knew lying around could feel so good!?
At the end of each Sunday night Restorative Yoga
class a collective sigh can be heard. We move a little
slower than we did when we started, as if moving too
fast will take away the peaceful, yummy feeling we've
worked so hard to achieve.
Okay, you caught me, we don't really work that hard!
Restorative yoga is an experience of body and mind.
Supported poses put the body at rest so the mind can
follow. Soft music, flickering candles, pleasant
aromatherapy, bolsters and blankets supporting your
body, a soothing voice talking you through a guided
meditation... (are you getting relaxed just thinking
about it?)
You don't have to relax vicariously through this
newsletter. Experience it for yourself! It's a great way
to prepare yourself to peacefully navigate the work
week ahead.
Sunday evenings, 7pm, Yoga North Park (5507 N
Sawyer). Don't miss the experience!
