Dear Yogis and Yoginis,
Since this is my first newsletter this year, I want to
wish you all the blessings, joy and success you hope
for in 2007. And also lots of fun!
| Restorative
Yoga - Peace of Mind & Body |
 |
|
To help you keep your stress level low and your
spirits high, the Restorative Yoga class is scheduled
to start again this Sunday, Jan. 14 at Yoga
North
Park (5507 N. Sawyer). The class will be on
Sundays at 7pm.
Restorative Yoga is a gentle style of yoga desgined
to deeply relax the body and mind. In each class we
will also focus on breathing techniques and
meditation techniques to help you take your peace of
mind with you...
If you sign up for 8 classes you will also receive a
little relax-and-renew goodie bag of bath fizzies,
bath herbs, a 'gratitude stone' and a $10-off coupon
good toward a Reiki session at your home or at the
studio.
I'm hoping to have at least 6 people registered in
order to run the class, so if you're interested, please
let me know right away. You can email me at
fran@teenieyogini.com or call my cell 773-531-8513.

Class Schedule / Private Sessions |
 |
|
The Wednesday night class (7:30pm at Yoga North
Park) has been lots of fun (yes, and relaxing too!).
It is a little more physically active than the Sunday
night class, but always geared toward the skill level
of the attendees. We work on flexibility, strength,
posture, and stress relief.
Whether you're new to yoga or have some
experience, you'll get all the personalized attention
and support you need to really get your yoga
practice going.
During January your first class is free, so come by
and check it out...
And remember, if your life is too hectic to go by
someone else's schedule, you can always elect to
have
private sessions in your home or at the studio.

If you've picked up the current issue of Yoga
Chicago, you might have noticed an article by yours
truly, along with this stunning pic of my daughter
Kaia (she's now 19 months with lots more hair!).
If you haven't seen it, check it out and let me know
what you think! (It's on page 46). If you can't find
a copy of Yoga Chicago, the text of the article is on
my Teenie Yogini website.

Grateful
for New Year's Resolutions |
|
|
|
Have you made lots of great resolutions for this
year? How long do you think you'll stick to them
this year?
As an Aries I'm prone to fast starts that often end in
unfinished projects. So this year I've resolved to
take it one day at a time. I resolve to live each day
in gratitude, letting go of the past and dwelling as
much as possible in each moment. I'll let you know in
the Spring how it's going.
Here's my strategy: Each morning when I wake up I
give thanks for another opportunity at life. I make
the choice to be content (the yogic principle of
santosha) with anything that comes my way -
whether it be an angry kindergartener or a call from a
long lost friend.
I've found that on the days that I am able to start
the day with this intention, things seem to go
smoother. Somehow I'm not quite so frazzled, I smile
a lot more and have a lot more fun. It seems
gratitude is a great antidote for stress.
More gems for growing gratitude....
